Set up split tunneling

Pick the apps that go through DinoLink and the apps that stay direct, in under two minutes.

On this page 5 sections

Split tunneling lets you route certain apps through DinoLink while leaving others on your normal connection. The setup is the same idea on every platform; the menus differ.

Android

  1. Open DinoLink.
  2. Settings → Per-app routing (or Сплит-туннелинг in the Russian build).
  3. Choose Through VPN as the default behavior, then pick the apps that should bypass.
  4. Or invert: choose Direct as default, then pick the apps that should go through.
  5. Tap Save. The change applies on the next reconnect.

Windows / macOS

  1. DinoLink → Settings → Split tunneling.
  2. Add apps via the picker, or paste in domains for destination-based splits.
  3. Save and reconnect.

iOS

iOS doesn’t expose a per-app API to third-party VPNs, so DinoLink uses on-demand rules to achieve a similar effect. In Settings → DinoLink → On-Demand Rules, set up triggers like “Connect when on cellular” or “Don’t connect on home Wi-Fi.” For destination-based split, the feature is currently in the DinoLink Smart Routes beta — see the in-app onboarding.

A starter list for Russian users

A good first split for someone in Russia in 2026:

Send through DinoLink:

  • Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal
  • Instagram, Facebook, X / Twitter, TikTok
  • YouTube
  • ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini
  • GitHub, Slack, Notion, Linear, Zoom

Keep direct:

  • Сбербанк, Тинькофф, ВТБ, и другие банковские приложения
  • Госуслуги, ФНС
  • СБП-приложения для оплаты
  • Яндекс.Еда, Самокат, Делимобиль, и другие сервисы такси/доставки
  • Local maps and navigation (Яндекс.Карты, 2GIS)

You can change the split at any time. It survives reconnects, sleep, and network switches.
